Tom Hulce

The actor who brought to life an irreverent, cackling genius marked an entire generation: Tom Hulce was the unforgettable Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart of Milos Forman's 'Amadeus', a role that earned him an Oscar nomination for Best Actor. Born in Detroit in 1953, he had made himself noticed earlier as the naive Pinto in the college comedy 'National Lampoon's Animal House'. He rounded out his film period with endearing roles in 'Parenthood' and as the voice of Quasimodo in Disney's 'The Hunchback of Notre Dame'. Retired from film in the mid-nineties, he redirected his career to theater as a producer and won a Tony Award for the musical 'Spring Awakening'.
