The Celebration, the movement's first and most celebrated film, used handheld digital camerawork to tell a devastating story of a birthday party unraveling over accusations of childhood abuse, becoming a landmark of 1990s European cinema. The Hunt, following a kindergarten teacher wrongly accused of child abuse, returned to similarly devastating territory decades later with a more classically composed style. Another Round, following four teachers testing a theory about maintaining a constant level of intoxication, won the Academy Award for Best International Feature and became his most internationally celebrated later work.
