Sid Melton has spent most of a working life as an American actor whose career has outlived most of the formats it was recorded on. The early stretch of the career is the part least seen today. Casting directors have gone to him for comedy more than for anything else. Counting cinema and television together, the tally passes 77 titles. 'The Golden Girls' remains the reference point, thanks largely to Salvadore Petrillo. Another entry worth naming is 'Green Acres'.
