A rookie officer in the Malmö police witnesses a brutal killing in his own neighbourhood and is pulled onto the investigation, the first case of a career that will define him. Netflix set this origin story for Henning Mankell's detective in present-day Sweden rather than the period of the novels, and shot it in English. Adam Pålsson plays Kurt Wallander, with Richard Dillane, Leanne Best and Ellise Chappell around him. Two seasons appeared in 2020 and 2022, the second subtitled 'Killer's Shadow', before the series ended.
