Sandy Kominsky had one good acting career decades ago and now runs a Los Angeles acting class, while his oldest friend and agent Norman Newlander deals with the death of his wife. The Netflix comedy follows the two men through auditions, prostate appointments, funerals and Sandy's difficult relationship with his daughter. Chuck Lorre created it for Michael Douglas and Alan Arkin; it ran three seasons from 2018 to 2021, Arkin leaving after the second. It won Golden Globes for best musical or comedy series and for Douglas.
