Daniel Holden is released after nineteen years on death row when DNA evidence vacates his conviction, and returns to a small Georgia town that has not agreed he is innocent. 'Rectify' is less interested in whether he did it than in what nineteen years in a cell does to a person and to the family that waited. Created by Ray McKinnon, it ran four seasons at a deliberately slow pace, and was among the most acclaimed and least watched American dramas of its decade.
