Set against the underground ballroom scene of late-1980s New York, this FX drama follows a chosen family of Black and Latino trans women and gay men building lives of their own amid the AIDS crisis and a city obsessed with Trump-era excess. Michaela Jaé Rodriguez's Blanca founds a house with fierce tenderness, Dominique Jackson's imperious Elektra rules as her rival, and Billy Porter's emcee Pray Tell narrates the balls with commanding wit. Indya Moore and Angel Bismark Curiel round out an ensemble largely drawn from the community it depicts. Created by Ryan Murphy, Brad Falchuk, and Steven Canals, it became landmark television simply for the scale of its trans representation.
