Russia occupies Norway with the European Union's blessing after a green Norwegian government shuts down oil and gas production, and the country slides into a soft, deniable form of control. The thriller came from an idea by crime novelist Jo Nesbo and was developed by Karianne Lund and Erik Skjoldbjaerg for TV 2, with Henrik Mestad as the prime minister and Eldar Skar as his bodyguard. Three seasons aired between 2015 and 2019, and the Russian embassy in Oslo publicly objected before the first season had even been broadcast.
