Los Angeles private eye Joe Mannix leaves a computerized detective agency to work alone, solving cases with fists, instinct and a remarkable tolerance for being knocked unconscious. 'Mannix', which ran on CBS from 1967 to 1975, stars Mike Connors as the Armenian-American investigator and Gail Fisher as his secretary Peggy Fair, one of the first Black actresses in a regular dramatic television role, a performance that won her an Emmy. Produced by Desilu and famed for its jazz-waltz Lalo Schifrin theme and frequent action, the series ran eight seasons and became one of the defining private-detective shows of its era.
