Gurren Lagann

Gurren Lagann

“Your drill is the drill that will pierce the Heavens!”
Original title: 天元突破グレンラガン
★8.2/10(631)TV-14age•2007
AnimationAction & AdventureSci-Fi & Fantasy
Simon has spent his whole life digging tunnels in an underground village, but when he and his hot-headed friend Kamina break through to the surface, they find a world ruled by giant robots and the noble who commands them. Voiced by Tetsuya Kakihara and Katsuyuki Konishi, the two team up with the gun-toting Yoko, voiced by Marina Inoue, piloting a scavenged mech that starts small and, true to the show's escalating philosophy, ends up almost cosmically enormous. What begins as a scrappy underdog rebellion mutates episode by episode into something stranger and more operatic. Few anime commit this hard to the idea that sheer audacity can out-power any enemy.
