Generation Kill
CreatorDavid Simon
Embedded with the First Reconnaissance Battalion of the US Marines, a Rolling Stone reporter rides along through the 2003 invasion of Iraq, from the Kuwaiti border northwards, watching orders, equipment and rules of engagement fall apart on the road. David Simon and Ed Burns adapted Evan Wright's reporting with Wright himself for HBO, which aired seven parts in 2008. Alexander Skarsgard plays Sergeant Brad Colbert and James Ransone plays Ray Person; several of the real Marines took part, one of them playing himself.
