In a haze of neon, glitter and pharmaceutical fog, a group of American high schoolers stumble through addiction, desire, identity and the relentless glare of social media. At the center is Rue, a gifted teenager fresh out of rehab whose intoxicating, unstable bond with the new girl Jules anchors a sprawling portrait of adolescence at its rawest. Shot with dreamlike, kaleidoscopic intensity, the series refuses to look away from the pain beneath its beauty. Unflinching and visually intoxicating, it renders teenage anguish with an aching, cinematic honesty.
