Escape at Dannemora
CreatorBrett Johnson, Michael Tolkin
In 2015, convicted murderers Richard Matt and David Sweat broke out of New York's Clinton Correctional Facility with power tools, helped by Tilly Mitchell, a married prison employee romantically entangled with both men. Directed entirely by Ben Stiller, the Showtime limited series 'Escape at Dannemora' reconstructs the escape and the three-week manhunt across the frozen North Country. Benicio del Toro and Paul Dano play the fugitives, and Patricia Arquette, nearly unrecognizable as Tilly, won the Golden Globe for her performance. The 2018 series earned Emmy nominations for best limited series and Stiller's direction.
