After a violent falling-out with Wilson Fisk's criminal empire, Maya Lopez, played by Alaqua Cox, flees New York for her childhood home in Oklahoma, where the family and community she abandoned are waiting. Deaf and hardened by years inside Fisk's organization, Maya must reckon with her Choctaw heritage and the grandmother, played by Tantoo Cardinal, and cousin, played by Devery Jacobs, she left behind while a reckoning with Fisk closes in. The series folds Marvel's crime-thriller machinery into a specific, culturally grounded portrait of one woman's identity and guilt. It's a quieter, more intimate spinoff than its 'Daredevil' roots suggest, prioritizing legacy and family over spectacle.
