For decades now, René Lefèvre has been a French actor with the unglamorous consistency that long careers are made of. Another entry worth naming is 'Angelique and the King'. Drama accounts for the largest share of the work. 57 appearances between the two screens is the plain arithmetic of it. Playing Gilbert Varnove in 'Le Doulos' put him in front of the widest audience of the career.
