Based on true events, it follows General Glen McMahon, a charismatic and cocky officer inspired by Stanley McChrystal, sent to command American troops in the unwinnable war in Afghanistan. Convinced he can win a conflict no one knows how to end, he surrounds himself with a retinue of loyal followers and launches a campaign riddled with absurd meetings, oversized egos and clashes with the political machine. A biting satire on the bureaucracy of war and the vanity of command, portraying modern warfare as an administrative fiasco. A dramatic comedy that ironically lays bare the gulf between a general's ambitions and the reality on the ground.
