Teenager Sam Witwicky only wants to impress a girl when he buys his first car, never suspecting that the clunker is actually an alien being able to transform into a machine. Sam is dragged into an age-old war between two factions of extraterrestrial robots: the noble Autobots, led by Optimus Prime, and the sinister Decepticons, bent on seizing an artifact of unlimited power that Earth conceals.
