At the height of the American Civil War, three unscrupulous men pursue across the arid American Southwest the trail of a cemetery where a chest holding two hundred thousand dollars in gold lies buried. The Good, a cunning bounty hunter, the Bad, a ruthless hitman, and the Ugly, a Mexican bandit as shrewd as he is vulnerable, ally and betray each other endlessly because each holds only part of the secret. Their journey crosses battlefields and ghost towns to a legendary final showdown. Sergio Leone crowns his Dollars trilogy with a masterpiece of the spaghetti western, monumental in its staging and sublimated by the music of Ennio Morricone.
