Buster Moon is an optimistic koala running a theater on hard times who, in a last desperate bid to save it from ruin, decides to organize a singing contest. A misprint on the flyers inflates the prize to an astronomical sum and draws a crowd of the city's animals, each with a dream and a story of their own: a piglet worn out by her brood, a gorilla fleeing his father's criminal past, a shy elephant with stage fright, and a swindling mouse. A high-energy animated musical comedy packed with pop hits and an ode to overcoming personal insecurities.
