When Castro's regime opens the prisons in 1980, Cuban exile Tony Montana arrives in Miami determined to seize the American dream by the most brutal means. With insatiable ambition and unchecked violence, he climbs through the cocaine business to become the state's biggest kingpin, but his own paranoia, greed and rampant consumption gradually erode everything he has built, including the few bonds of affection he has left. Brian De Palma and Oliver Stone reinvent the gangster classic in an operatic, iconic excess about power, self-destruction and the price of wanting the whole world.
