Jason Statham stars as a disgraced former elite operative who reluctantly protects a kidnapped 12-year-old math prodigy, caught between the Triads, the Russian mob and a web of corrupt New York City politicians and police, all of whom want the girl for her memory-based skills. Directed by Boaz Yakin, the film delivers Statham's signature brand of brutal, efficiently choreographed close-quarters action across a sprawling, multi-faction crime plot. It's a fairly standard entry in his post-Transporter action catalog, distinguished mainly by its unusually labyrinthine gang-war plotting.
