达德利．穆尔与玛丽．斯廷伯根主演的爱情喜剧，两人在片中饰演一对编剧搭档杰森与菲比，两人均已结婚，但是在九年的合作生涯中，却不断产生若即若离的感情关系。直至最后发生了一宗无法解决的矛盾时，两人再也把持不住而爆发出真正的爱情。本片有不错的演出成绩，美术设计和摄影也令观众感到赏心悦目，可惜改编自舞台剧的故事内容太单薄，导演阿瑟．希勒处理男女主角之间的微妙感情演变也不够细腻动人，使全片在“浪漫"和“喜剧"两方面都交出不太理想的成绩单。
