Writer-director Mike Judge, expanding his own animated shorts, skewers late-'90s corporate absurdity with dry, deadpan precision, from TPS report memos to a printer's cathartic destruction. The film underperformed on release but found massive cult popularity on home video, its workplace satire resonating ever more sharply with successive generations of disillusioned office workers. It remains one of the most quoted workplace comedies ever made.
