David Koepp directs this globe-trotting caper as broad farce, leaning hard into Depp's mustache-fixated shtick and mannered line readings. Critics found the comedy strained and the pacing baggy, making it one of the more resoundingly panned vehicles of Depp's post-Pirates period.
