Alex the lion, Marty the zebra, Melman the giraffe, and Gloria the hippo are the pampered stars of the Central Park Zoo, until Marty, gripped by curiosity about life in the wild, decides to escape. Rushing to his rescue, the four friends end up shipped off and stranded on the beaches of Madagascar, a lush place where for the first time they must fend for themselves in the wild. Between partying lemurs and the awakening of instincts the city had dulled, the friendship of the four is put to the test. A frantic, cheeky DreamWorks animated comedy packed with gags for all ages.
