The original monster-movie landmark from Merian C. Cooper and Ernest B. Schoedsack, in which a film crew sails to a mysterious island and captures a giant ape, bringing him to New York where he meets his doom atop the Empire State Building. Willis O'Brien's groundbreaking stop-motion animation and its tragic beauty made it a foundational blockbuster. A genuine classic that shaped fantasy cinema.
