A quintessential low-budget martial-arts revenge picture and a cornerstone of Jean-Claude Van Damme's early stardom. He plays a young fighter who travels to Thailand to avenge his brother, paralyzed by a brutal champion, training in Muay Thai under a wise old master for a final bare-knuckle showdown. Cheesy dialogue, montage training sequences and the famous drunken dance scene abound. Not remotely sophisticated, but a beloved, endlessly rewatchable staple of 1980s action-video culture.
