In 1930s Foshan, a mild-mannered master of Wing Chun lives peacefully with his family, respected but reluctant to fight, until the Japanese occupation shatters his city and reduces his household to ruin. Pushed to his limits by hunger and humiliation, he finally unleashes his art in defense of his countrymen's dignity. Directed by Wilson Yip with electrifying choreography by Sammo Hung, this semi-biographical martial-arts epic stars Donnie Yen as the legendary teacher of Bruce Lee, fusing dazzling combat with a stirring story of quiet honor under occupation.
