Roddy is a pampered pet mouse who lives in luxury in a Kensington townhouse until a coarse sewer rat named Sid flushes him down the toilet and into the churning underworld of Ratropolis. Down among the pipes and neon he teams up with the resourceful Rita, a boat captain in debt to the villainous Toad, who nurses a lethal grudge and a plan to drown the whole rodent city. Aardman's clay-figured wit is rendered here in fluid computer animation, packed with sight gags, singing slugs and breakneck chases. A buoyant, joke-dense caper that never lets the pace slacken.
