Paul Atreides, heir to a noble house, accompanies his family to the desolate and hostile planet Arrakis, the sole source of spice, the most coveted substance in the universe. What seems like a political promotion is in truth a deadly trap devised by ruthless rivals, and Paul, tormented by visions of an uncertain future, must find his place among the Fremen, the native people of the desert. Denis Villeneuve adapts Frank Herbert's epic with a colossal, solemn staging, weaving politics, religion, ecology, and destiny into a science fiction spectacle of towering depth and beauty.
