In the Chile of 1973, after Pinochet's military coup, Lena, a young German flight attendant, watches as her boyfriend Daniel is arrested for his leftist sympathies and taken to Colonia Dignidad, a sinister cult enclave in the south of the country from which no one has ever managed to escape. Determined to rescue him, Lena voluntarily infiltrates the compound, a reign of terror run by the fanatical preacher Paul Schäfer, where slave labor, abuse and surveillance are constant. Based on true events, the film is a thriller of mounting tension. A drama about love, courage and the horror hidden behind the barbed wire of a real enclave.
