A young married couple expecting their first child see their peaceful life disrupted when the husband gives his wife a rare porcelain doll she had long been searching for. Soon after, a night of horror erupts in their home when two members of a satanic cult attack them, leaving behind an evil trail that seems to have become trapped in the toy. From then on, a series of increasingly disturbing phenomena revolve around the doll. A prequel within the universe of 'The Conjuring' that recounts the dark origin of the cursed object, with classic haunted-house terror.
