The door locks, and the room comes alive around him, warping time, memory and grief until he can no longer tell nightmare from reality. Mikael Håfström adapts Stephen King into a taut, largely single-set psychological horror that traps its skeptic inside his own unraveling mind. Anchored by a committed John Cusack, it wrings escalating dread from claustrophobia and the wounds a man carries with him, proving a chamber piece can terrify.
