Mariah Carey
Actress · Producer
57 years (Mar 27, 1969)Huntington, New York, USA
Born in Huntington, New York, in 1969, Mariah Carey is above all one of the best-selling recording artists in history, but her on-screen work forms a genuine parallel career. Her acting debut in the notorious flop Glitter (2001) was followed by a widely praised supporting turn as a plain-clothes social worker in Lee Daniels s Precious (2009), which established that she could disappear into a role when a filmmaker asked her to. She has since worked with Daniels again on The Butler (2013) and made a signature holiday-season screen presence out of All I Want for Christmas Is You. Her on-camera range is narrow, but when handled well, she can quietly steal scenes.
