Larry Gates has been in the trade long enough to be called a veteran actor who arrived well before the current crop and stayed. The oldest credits belong to a different era of the industry. He has been working on screen for more than 74 years. In cinemas, 'In the Heat of the Night' is the work that stuck — Eric Endicott, specifically. He also turns up in 'Invasion of the Body Snatchers'.
