ある日親たちが凶暴化し、わが子に襲いかかる世界を描いたニコラス・ケイジ主演のスリラー。2人の子どもにも恵まれ、幸せな毎日を送っているブレント。いつものように会社に行き、オフィスのテレビでブレントが見たのが、親が実の子どもを殺害する事件が相次ぎ、国中がパニック状態となっているという驚がくのニュースだった。子どもたちの身を案じたブレントは仕事を早めに切り上げて帰宅するが、子どもたちはいつもどおりに無事に暮らしていた。しかし、愛する子どもたちの顔を見た瞬間、ブレントの心に「この子たちを殺さなければ」という正体不明の殺意が生じてしまう。
