UC0079, Weihnachten: Bernhard Wiseman, ein junger Pilot, wird mit einer ZEON-Einheit in die Kolonie Libot bei SIDE6 eingeschleust. Ihr Auftrag ist es, Gerüchte über eine neue Waffe der Erdallianz zu bestätigen. Trotz der Hilfe eines kleines Jungen, der die Sondereinheit mit Informationen über die Kolonie versorgt, werden sie entdeckt und es kommt zu heftigen bewaffneten Auseinandersetzungen. Die Lage ist hoffnungslos, doch ein Unglück kommt selten allein und so ereilt die Einheit die neue Direktive: Ist die neuartige Waffe nicht bis Heiligabend gefunden und unschädlich gemacht, wird die Kolonie mit Atomraketen bombardiert.
