Der erfahrene und einsame Polizei-Kommissar Marc Ferrot lernt die schöne Fotografin Sylvia Leopardi kennen und verliebt sich in sie. Die beiden beginnen eine Affäre. Leopardi wiederum hat außerdem eine Affäre mit Ferrots Vorgesetztem Kommissar Ganay. Ganay will allerdings demnächst die behinderteThérèse, die an den Rollstuhl gefesselt ist, heiraten. Plötzlich wird Sylvia Leopardi ermordet aufgefunden und ausgerechnet Ferrot soll den Fall aufklären...
