Among the names in the crawl at the end sits Crane Wilbur, an American screenwriter who works where the film is put together rather than where it is watched. A 110-year run behind the camera is not a common thing. 'House of Wax' is where the largest audience encountered this work. 'Mysterious Island' belongs on any short list of the work.
