Anne Baxter

An American actress of Hollywood's golden age, Anne Baxter won the Oscar for her role in 'The Razor's Edge' and was immortalized as the ambitious, calculating Eve Harrington in the acid-tongued 'All About Eve'. Granddaughter of architect Frank Lloyd Wright, she possessed a cool elegance that let her shift from ingenue to manipulator with ease. She also played Nefertari opposite Charlton Heston in Cecil B. DeMille's grand fresco 'The Ten Commandments'. She died in 1985, leaving behind one of cinema's most quoted portraits of female ambition.
