Ananya Panday belongs to the newest generation of Bollywood leading ladies. Born in Mumbai in 1998, daughter of actor Chunky Panday, she debuted at twenty in 'Student of the Year 2' (2019) and spent her early career in mainstream romances before showing sharper instincts in the friendship drama 'Kho Gaye Hum Kahan' (2023) and the social-media thriller 'CTRL' (2024), where she carried the film almost single-handed. Her register is contemporary and urban: characters navigating dating apps, ambition and anxiety, closer to her own generation than to the classic Hindi-film heroine.
